Baby names
It is interesting that in this multicultural society that we now all live in, there are a lot more names flying around than there used to be. I know that a friend of mine was looking at Indian baby girl names the other day because there are so many pretty ones. She didn’t mind that’s he was not from that background but just thought it could help her find a pretty name. I think that we should think very carefully about the names that we choose for our children. I think that it can stereotype a person?s viewpoint about someone before they even meet them. It might be that there is a famous person called that name or they personally know someone of that name and might expect people of a certain name to behave in a certain way. Obviously as we all have our own opinions then it is hard to pick something and that is why I looked at unique baby boy names so that no one could make a preconceived judgement about my child before they met them in person. It is hard to know at this early stage whether it makes any difference but I sure that when they grow up they will wish that I had called them a mainstream name because children are never happy!
